Mandelöl (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil / Almond Oil)

Almond Oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil / Almond Oil)

What is in almond oil?

Almond oil is a treasure trove of skin-loving nutrients like alpha tocopherol and gamma tocopherol. It moisturizes and protects your delicate skin areas. Almond oil has antioxidant potential that can ward off harmful free radicals.

Almond Oil is a luxurious skin supplement that penetrates deep into your pores. Linoleic acid strengthens resistance and at the same time protects against unwelcome pollutants on the skin, such as viruses, bacteria or fine dust. In addition, the linoleic acid provides moisture for smooth softness.

How is almond oil made?

Our 100% pure organic almond oil is a very mild, natural and unscented care oil for all skin types. It is made from the blanched kernels of the sweet almond (Prunus dulcis) and therefore contains no amygdalin/hydrocyanic acid. The almond tree belongs to the Rosaceae family, the rose family.

The almond oil is obtained by pressing the almonds. Cold-pressed oils can be particularly good for the skin, because the oil is extracted at low temperature and without solvents, and all the benefits and nutrients of the almond are preserved! We use cold pressing for our care oil.

What can almond oil be used for?

Almond oil is great for your skin as it has emollient properties that prevent the loss of the skin's natural moisture and allow it to retain more moisture. These properties of the oil help to improve the complexion of the skin.

Almond oil absorbs quickly into your skin, making it an effective moisturizer. It smoothes the skin and helps it retain moisture by improving the skin's barrier function.

You can apply almond oil to both your face and body. Some users like to add essential oils or use almond oil as a carrier oil for a relaxing body massage. A great feature of the oil is that it's light and not too greasy, so your skin doesn't feel sticky when you use the oil as a moisturizer.

Our organic almond oil is ideal for removing make-up and even stubborn cosmetic residues. Other areas of application for pure almond oil are, for example:

  • Dry skin in babies and children
  • Ideal for facial care
  • scar
  • body massage
  • Cracked and itchy areas of skin, for example on the elbow or forearm
  • Stretch marks
  • Base oil for aromatherapy

Our almond oil is suitable for daily use.

How does almond oil affect the skin?

Can reduce puffiness and dark circles

Almond oil has anti-inflammatory effects and can help reduce swelling in the skin. Some users rub almond oil under their eyes to reduce bags or dark circles.

Treats dry skin

Almond oil is both a moisturizer and an emollient for your skin. The soothing, moisturizing and skin-friendly properties care for the skin gently and sustainably and ensure that the skin feels nice and soft without irritating. The oil smoothes and helps the skin to retain moisture by improving the barrier function.

Does Almond Oil Reduce the Appearance of Stretch Marks?

Pregnant women who want to prevent stretch marks or reduce the associated itching can try massaging their stomachs with almond oil. According to a 2016 study, sweet almond oil can be an effective treatment for preventing and reducing stretch marks.

Overall, the evidence that almond oil helps with stretch marks is limited and more research is needed.
